Jared's Dirty Thirty

It happened.
Jared turned 30 this past weekend!

We started dating when he was 21 and I had just turned 20.
It is crazy to think about all the birthdays we have celebrated together.

As most people do with 30 birthdays I wanted this one to be special, but also I have just always loved celebrating birthdays.

Jared loves everything from the 80s.
Fun fact, he secretly wants to be in a big hair 80s band.
So when it came to thinking of a theme for his party, I didn't have to think too long.

I had been traveling a lot of work right before his birthday so thank goodness for Amazon, Great American Cookies and Publix! I also order custom koozies from Ember Lifestyle, Magnum PI themed to go with Jared's costume.

He had the best time with the best of friends and family!
A huge shout out to everyone who dressed up and came over to celebrate!

Karaoke always takes a minute for people to warm up to, but it was a huge hit! I love these BONAOK portable blue tooth mics, because they are under $30 and  all you need is a Karaoke app!
I wish I took more pictures but we were having too much fun!

January 2019: Favorites

January always starts with such resolve.
People making promises to themselves and others. Declaring it out loud, or on social media, to help keep themselves accountable.
I love a fresh start, but January has felt like the longest month ever. Maybe because it is so cold outside?
PLUS SIDE:
Jared and I are eating healthier, being each other's accountability buddies and trying new things! I still have items to cross off my goal list throughout the year, but for now we are on the right track.
I've linked  my top 5 favorite things from this past month!

I live in this camo sweatshirt!
I've had been looking for one for the longest time
and finally found this one at Target!  You can't beat the $18 price.
Our air fryer is one of our favorite Christmas gifts.
To be honest I wasn't sure how much we would use it,
but it is perfect for quick meals, drying fruit and it isn't messy.
Easy cleanup is always a win in my book!
This brush is my absolute favorite!
It doesn't tear my hair out and is perfect for de-tangling before a blow dry!
This travel size makes it easy to pack and take on work trips.
The booties I got for Christmas and have been non-stop since!
I love Nordstrom's BP booties. They last for years are are great quality.
With the Orangetheory transformation challenge in full swing,
I am grateful for my HIIT pair of sneakers!
I have another pair for running outside,
but these are perfect for class and casual wear!

New Year, New Goals: 2019

For the past two years, I have been setting goals for myself instead of resolutions. I know, I know they are the same thing to some people.  I just feel resolutions seem absolute and goals are things you can work towards. There is less pressure to do a complete change. It has helped me make lifestyle changes, like drink more water. I now don't drink sodas. Or read more, now I read about a book a month with my book club gals.

My 2018 list consisted of:

  • More yoga NOPE
  • Go to brunch more YEP
  • Hike Suwanee Mountain NOPE
  • Visit Sweetwater Creek Park YEP
  • Write more thank you notes YEP
  • Go to church more YEP
  • Blog once a week SOMETIMES

I was able to accomplish about half of this list so not too bad, but I know I need to re-group and re-focus. Last year wasn't the easiest year. Other things became more important than some of these goals. I hate to say it, but that is life, priorities change.
But, a new year brings new promise with it.
So like the past two years, I have written out my goals for this year so in a year's time I can reflect on all the good, the bad and the time in between.

2019:
  • Run moreI really fell off the wagon last year and I miss it. Who am I?
  • Hike Suwanee MountainI still really really really want to do this!
  • Write more thank you notesI've gotten better, but still want to push myself to do more
  • More yoga: adding this one again. I need more flexibility in my life.
  • Create a better blog site: This blog is something I enjoy and started as an outlet. I feel like I need to take more time to plan it out.
