GameDay Ready

Football season is in full swing and I love it.
We spend our Saturdays cheering our Georgia Southern Eagles and Sundays watching NFL all day. Literally all day since we have NFL Sunday Ticket.

For my birthday Jared got me tickets for our big game against Clemson and it was too much fun hanging out with all of our college friends! Luckily Hurricane Florence didn't postpone the game!

This is the first year in awhile that we have been attending games at stadiums with a clear bag policy so I purchased the one below and it held up well! It was the perfect length hitting right at the hip and was large enough to hold a lot of stuff, but not too obnoxious to carry.

It is still so hot in the south so jean shorts have been my go to with a cute tie knot top or jersey! When I was in college you pretty much always wore a dress but now the style is a little more casual.

On Sundays, I usually make a variety of dips that we snack on all day long. The easiest and one of my favorites is pimento cheese dip! You just mix all the ingredients in a large bowl and BAM it is ready!

1 4oz jar of diced pimentos
2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup of mayonnaise
Salt & Pepper to Taste

Fall Fridays

Every year as soon as football starts, it feels like our schedules are non-stop.
We have several family and friend birthdays combined with weddings, weekend trips and holidays our lives are pretty much planned out through December.
Part of me, knows I bring this on us as I have a hard time saying no. Call it FOMO or blame it on my 'consul 'personality aka Monica from Friends (Find out your personality), but I can't seem to shake this habit.
I find that when I write everything out it helps me with my time management and keeps me going. Balancing this with learning that I need some me time has been something that has come with time.

Babies & Stripes

Jared and I have come to the season in our life where we are winding down on weddings and ramping up on baby showers.
It is fun to continue to celebrate our friends and their big life milestones!
The thing about weddings verses baby showers is that usually you are told/encourage to wear certain wedding attire, but baby showers you never know!
I've always loved stripes (maybe a little too much) and this Madewell dress was a must buy when I saw it!
Below is the link to the dress in black and white and few other casual dresses that are perfect for fall events!

Book Review: We Were The Lucky Ones

This book has been on my reading list for awhile  When this month was to be my turn to pick, I secretly hoped all the girls would choose this one from the options I proposed.
I love period pieces. Doesn't really matter which period, but this book also hit a little closer to home. My maternal grandmother was first generation Polish-American. Her parents immigrated to the United States and she was born in Pittsburgh in 1932.

When I was younger she showed me some of the letters she received from a cousin in Poland during World War II. As the war progressed my grandmother and her family heard less and less from her.
It was my grandmother's dream to visit Poland and also find out what happened to her family member.
Eventually, when I was about eight years old my grandmother and grandpa were able to make the trip. While they were able to see the town my grandmother's family was from, they were unable to find the missing cousin's grave or location.
This book reminded me of her and her love for her family. The raw emotions the characters felt in war torn Poland reminds you that we are all human no matter the other things that may divide us. Throughout the novel you hang on the suspense of what will happen next to the Kurc family. As an American, it is so easy to get caught up  in the facts after the United States entered the war, but this book takes a deeper look into the catalysts that developed the war and its progression.
This novel is a good reminder of how love can overcome fear and hatred.
If you haven't picked up this book, it is a must!

Fitness Friday

This year I have worked a lot of my fitness. Traveling so much for work can throw a wrench in things and sometimes it is hard to get back into the swing of things.
I feel like I have hit my groove again and am achieve new things like running a mile in eight minutes and 34 seconds.
Jared and I have also been playing tennis together in the evenings. I LOVE that we both like to get out there and play. It shakes up the week and we really challenge each other to be active.
We aren't the best, but getting a little bit better thanks to our awesome coach Davis!
There is also nothing like some new workout clothes to motivate you! This top is one of my new favorites!
